The TRANSNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL ECOLOGY (TRISE) will hold its third annual conference, in Patras, Greece, from 28th to 31st of August 2015 titled “The Power to Destroy, The Power to Create”.
Europe is currently crossed by a series of economic and social crisis. This crisis represent a possibility for a different rebirth, a space in which the necessity allow participatory democracy, alternative economies and practices to solidify and grow.
The conference will highlight and discuss the new radical urban politics emerging today, energy democracy, climate justice and other social movements. We ask how cities could be building an Alternative Europe from below.
We welcome participants from all around Europe and beyond. Our goal is to bring together citizens and activists from many different cities and regions, creating a space for learning and the sharing of experiences.
